This demonstration shows recognition of wood veneer samples, regardless illumination conditions.

The dataset was created by scanning of veneer samples and consists of 66 kinds of wood, each with two samples. Recognition is tested by 55 images of the same veneer samples, but captured with smart phone camera.

Click on the image from the test set and the system will find similar images in the training set. The images are considered to be similar if the structure is similar, regardless illumination colour, illumination inhomogeneity, or illumination direction. The result images are ordered from left to right and top to bottom. The first is image is the most similar one and then similarity decreases.
